I (Melanie) am writing because Steve is feeling poorly and we are back in the hospital today. Steve had been coming out of the chemo cave and actually had a good day on Sunday. However, yesterday after a walk, Steve couldn't catch his breath. After an ambulance ride, chest xray, ct scan and a long night in the ER we discovered that Steve had quite a significant blood clot in his lung. They are now treating the blood clot and we will probably be here a couple of days.
Ironically, the lung and fluid level seems improved.
I have been reading alot of George MacDonald lately. During our first hospital stay I read The Golden Key to Steve. Here is a quote from the story:
"Then the Old Man of the Earth stooped over the floor of the cave, raised a huge stone from it, and left it leaning. It disclosed a great hole that went plumb-down.
'That is the way,' he said.
'But there are no stairs.'
'You must throw yourself in. There is no other way.' "
'That is the way,' he said.
'But there are no stairs.'
'You must throw yourself in. There is no other way.' "
Thank you for your sustaining prayers,
Melanie
